About Mech Wars
Mech Wars, released on PC Windows, is a MOBA developed by Han Studios. The story is set in a post nuclear world where there is a constant fight for resources. All factions use powerful battle units – mechs. Players control those machines during fights. The main element that distinguishes this title from other MOBA games is mech personalization in both equipment and appearance.
The battles take place in a post nuclear world in which three factions fight with each other for remaining resources and want to force their ideologies upon others. Among those factions we can find the wealthy Alliance that inhabits the biggest cities that haven’t been ruined yet; the Resistance that lives in inhospitable desert areas and uses the available technologies to develop; and the Unknown – the most mysterious faction that lives in contaminated areas.
The basic rules in Mech Wars are identical to the regular MOBA game – players fight on maps created in such a way that, most of the times, battles take place on routes that connect the bases of the opposite teams. The fights are between mechs controlled by players, but besides them there are also support units (known as creeps) that are controlled by the AI. The goal is to destroy the enemy base. By gaining experience players can level their mechs up and increase their abilities, such as movement speed, energy recovery and power of installed weapons.
One of the most important elements in Mech Wars is the modification and equipment upgrade system. Mechs are fully customizable. Among the available weapons, players can find machine guns, energy weapons, flamethrowers as well as heavy rocket launchers or miniguns. Each type of weapons has its own unique stats for damage inflicted on specific types of armor. In addition to that, the implemented crafting system not only allows the players to create and upgrade the equipment, but also to transfer special attributes of particular items. Players can decide which support units will fight on their side and give them some basic orders: return to the base or defend a mech.
The creeps are also part of another unique feature – the factories, which produce armies that are controlled by the AI. These buildings can be found on the map, and players can either destroy them, or capture them to increase the number of produced units.
Besides the single player campaign, Mech Wars also offers cooperation mode as well as team battles. The campaign, during which the players fight against the computer, can be finished in cooperation but this is not all. Mech Wars also allows playing special scenarios in PvP cooperation mode. In this mode players are divided into two teams and discover the story created by the developers. There are also regular multiplayer modes – unranked, ranked and arena.
